EmR Resources is here to help learners and their families navigate complex educational networks, which can often be an overwhelming undertaking.

Roles & Responsibilities

Special Education Advocacy

We can address specific parent concerns or complete an in-depth review of the program in place so that all available services and supports are maximized. We can assist in the identification stage, in creating effective IEP/504 plans, and in troubleshooting issues with already established educational programs. Applying a behavior-analytic lens, we help identify the function behind challenging behaviors impacting a learner’s education and recommend strategies for home and school teams to implement.

Wraparound Plans

We can help determine what private supports might be necessary to reach laid-out goals, and assist with implementation and oversight of comprehensive wraparound programs.

Parent Coaching

Parent training that helps ensure meaningful parent participation in the IEP process and empowers families in seeking the best educational outcomes for the learner.

Approach

Holistic Approach

Always using a strength-based, holistic approach, we identify and embrace the positive aspects of a learner’s profile, the family unit, and the systems involved, then determine the deficits and steps that would help reach the desired outcomes. We foster collaborative and respectful working relationships with all school districts, teams, and families.

Expertise

Our knowledge base and experience is vast and includes supporting learners who are acute or medically complex (i.e., non-verbal, non-ambulatory, g-tubes), as well as learners whose goals focus on improving independence or executive functioning skills. We will not shy away from connecting you with clinicians, resources, or individuals in addition to or outside of our agency if we determine such to be necessary.

Flexibility

Parent training that helps ensure meaningful parent participation in the IEP process and empowers families in seeking the best educational outcomes for the learner.
